Just as Fred Funk was crowned in February as champion of the inaugural Mayakoba Golf Classic, Jeffrey Kang and Pearl Jin both made history when they claimed the titles at the Mayakoba Junior Golf Classic.

Kang and Jin, both from California, each earned their first career AJGA tournament victories with their performance at El Camaleón in the AJGA's first-ever Open event conducted outside of the United States or Canada.

Kang fired a final-round 5-under-par 65 to come from six shots behind and capture the Boys Division at 3-under-par 207, while Jin carded a 4-under-par 67 to take the Girls Division crown with a 4-under-par 209 tournament total.
