How do you say Funk in Spanish?

That would be funkeon (campeon - champion) or funkador (ganador - winner).

The above question is well worth asking as Fred Funk is the champion of the inaugural Mayakoba Golf Classic. Funk claimed the title with a birdie on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff against Jose Coceres. The 50-year-old Funk hit a 4-iron to six feet on the 180-yard, par-3 10th hole before making the birdie putt to outlast the Argentine.

With the win, Funk became just the second golfer in history to win on the PGA TOUR after winning on the Champions Tour. The victory also makes him the fifth oldest champion in PGA TOUR history. By claiming the title at Mayakoba, Funk earned his eighth career PGA TOUR victory and first since winning the 2005 PLAYERS Championship.

"It just feels good to win the tournament," Funk said shortly after his win. "Just to be able to compete with the young guys on the regular TOUR, it shows that the old guy has still got something. It's a very satisfying win for me."

Over the course of the week, Funk fired rounds of 62-69-64-71--266 (-14). His opening round of 8-under-par 62 is a course record.
