Introducing the Amigos of Golf PARa Todos

Among the highlights of the most recent edition was the introduction of the newest members of the Golf PARa Todos team, the Amigos of Golf PARa Todos. By joining with the MGC staff, the Amigos of Golf PARa Todos help in growing golf in the state of Quintana Roo.

This great team is comprised of enthusiastic golfers who dedicate one day a month to teaching and sharing their knowledge and experience of golf with the attendees of Golf PARa Todos. Their involvement allows Golf PARa Todos to offer more personalized attention to each participant and be able to develop greater interest in golf among the participants.

The Amigos of Golf PARa Todos include Felipe Bautista, Adriana Dávila de Morales, Adrián Flores, Eduardo García, Carlos Herrero, Carlos Herrero Jr., Silvia Marchetti, David Martinez, Andrés Mejia, Lizbet Melo, Raul Monroy, Julio Poulat, Maru Saavedra, Luis Trujillo, el staff del Mayakoba Golf Classic y staff de los campos de golf El Camaleón, Mayan Palace y Iberostar Playa Paraíso.

Some of the activities available from the Amigos of Golf PARa Todos include group classes, one-on-one instruction for adults and children, coaching on the putting green and chipping green. The Amigos also assist in the organization of the raffle and much, much more.

MGC Champion Brian Gay Finishes 20th at PGA Championship

In the final Major Championship of the season, 2008 Mayakoba Golf Classic champion Brian Gay posted a tournament total of 8-over-par 288 to finish tied for 20th place at the PGA Championship.

The top-20 performance marks Gay's best showing ever in a Major Championship.

With rounds of 70-74-72-72, the winner of México's Only PGA TOUR Event kept himself in contention throughout the week at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, USA.

Making Gay's scores even more impressive was how difficult Oakland Hills played during the 90th annual PGA Championship. Nicknamed “The Monster” by the great Ben Hogan, Oakland Hills only had three players who broke par for the tournament.

Brian Gay is in action again this week at the Wyndham Championship before he begins play in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. Gay is currently in 38th place on the season-long FedExCup points race. For more information on the FedExCup, visit www.pgatour.com/fedexcup.
