News & Notes from the MGCMay 2011
Ambassador Appreciation Day

The Mayakoba Golf Classic (MGC) welcomed its dedicated team of volunteer Ambassadors back to El Camaleón Golf Club on Sunday, May 1, for the annual Ambassador Appreciation Day.

All those who participated as Ambassadors at the event were invited to join for golf and a luncheon where the MGC staff recognized and thanked all the individuals and groups who make México's Only PGA TOUR Event possible.

Among the groups recognized were the City of Joy Foundation, Flora, Fauna y Cultura de México, the Rotary Clubs of Playa del Carmen, Cancún, Cancún Hotel Zone and Tulum, Malix Pek pet shelter, Un Hogar con Amor, the Equinotherapy Center of the Riviera Maya, Centro Integracion Juvenil, Rio Secreto, IN Riviera Maya magazine, UNID – Cancún, La Salle – Cancún and Playa del Carmen, Mano Amiga School, UT Riviera Maya and Universidad Riviera. And of course, Yaxche Maya Cuisine who made the week so memorable with gourmet breakfast and lunch for the Ambassadors.

Malix Pek also earned an important contribution from the MGC through its Charity Ticket Program (CTP). The CTP, which grants selected charity organizations in the local community the opportunity to sell general admission grounds tickets to the MGC and retain all proceeds in support of their respective charitable efforts, provides a bonus for the organization that drives the greatest attendance to the MGC through the CTP.

The Mayakoba Golf Classic was proud to present a $3,000 USD check as a bonus for Malix Pek for their great work in this year’s CTP.

The money raised through initiatives like the CTP enhances the MGC’s overall charitable impact which following its 5th Anniversary event this past February surpassed $1,000,000 USD in contributions to worthy organizations.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer Ambassador for the 2012 MGC or if you are interested in supporting one of the MGC’s charities, please visit www.MayakobaGolfClassic.com for more information or to contact the Tournament management.
