The Mayakoba Golf Classic will launch on October 19 the third installment of Fotogolf, its popular online photography contest where golfers will have the chance to win a position in the Pro-Am competition at the 2012 edition of Mexico’s Only PGA TOUR Event.

This year’s contest will be open to all residents of the United States and Canada as well as Mexico. Previously, only residents of Mexico had been eligible to participate.

As in other years, golfers should take their best golf photographs and submit them online at www.MayakobaGolfClassic.com where they will be available for public view in an online gallery. Once the submission period closes, contest organizers will select 11 finalists who will enter into a public vote to determine which photo is the grand prize winner.

In a new twist this year, fans and participants will have the opportunity to determine which photo will be the 12th finalist to enter the public vote. All photos will also be displayed on the Mayakoba Golf Classic’s Facebook page where fans can click “LIKE” for photos they think should be the last finalist. The photo with the most “likes” at the conclusion of the photo submission period will automatically enter the public vote as the 12th finalist.

The grand prize for 2012 will once again be a position in the Mayakoba Golf Classic’s Pro-Am, where the lucky winner will get to play El Camaleón Golf Club alongside a PGA TOUR professional on February 22, 2012—the day before the first round of professional competition at the 2012 Mayakoba Golf Classic. The remaining 11 finalists will receive a VIP hospitality ticket for Saturday’s third round and Sunday’s final round of the MGC.

Fotogolf is the only way in which fans can win a complimentary spot this year in the event’s Pro-Am competition.

Every other week, Don Pepe Lota will travel to another destination around the world. You will have the opportunity to win a great prize by guessing where he is, based on daily clues Don Pepe Lota will be leaving on the MGC’s Facebook page.

When Don Pepe Lota posts a clue on the Mayakoba Golf Classic’s Facebook page, you can add a comment with your thoughts and guesses as to where he is. Each day, a new and more revealing clue will be posted and you can add another guess each day as the destination becomes more and more evident.

The first Facebook fan of the Mayakoba Golf Classic to accurately guess Don Pepe Lota’s destination will be declared the winner of that week. The actual destination will not be announced by Don Pepe Lota and contest organizers until the end of the week and after all clues have been released, so keep guessing even if you think someone else has already named the destination—you never know what kind of clues Don Pepe Lota will share.

All weekly winners will receive a weekly grounds ticket to the 2012 Mayakoba Golf Classic and a t-shirt or a Greg Norman Collection hat. Following the completion of Don Pepe Lota’s World Tour, all weekly winners will enter a random drawing for the Grand Prize which consists of an exciting gift pack, two (2) Fiesta Club passes for both Saturday and Sunday and a two-night hotel stay at the Fairmont Mayakoba during the weekend of the 2012 MGC.
