Spectator Etiquette

As the great Bobby Jones said, "In golf, customs of etiquette and decorum are just as important as rules governing play."

Stay quiet and stand still when the players are about to hit the ball.
For your own safety, always follow the directions of Mayakoba Ambassadors and tournament security officials.
Always stay outside the ropes, unless crossing at a designated crosswalk under the direction of the Mayakoba Ambassadors.
It is appropriate for spectators to applaud or cheer successful strokes by a player, but excessive demonstrations are not appropriate because of possible effect on other competitors. Spectators should never applaud or cheer the misfortune or misplay by a competitor.
If following a group or player from hole to hole, spectators should remain still until all players in that group have completed their shots, or putts on the green, and then move on to the next shot or hole.
Do not request a player's autograph during his round. Request autographs only after a player has completed his round.

Spectators will be removed immediately without warning for:

Refusal to obey quiet signs or signals
Distracting or embarrassing a player
Making rude, vulgar or other inappropriate comments or gestures toward a player
Booing or cheering at inappropriate times
