Q. Could we just get some comments?

ROBERT ALLENBY: Obviously disappointed, disappointed that I didn't like hit 3-wood off 18 in regulation, like I should have. But that's the way it goes, you know. You make some mistakes sometimes, and that was a major one, obviously.

I mean I had this tournament in the bag, a two-shot lead with one hole to play and just played it like a rookie, pretty much.

Q. Does it feel like a lifetime ago, that 18 or 72nd hole?

ROBERT ALLENBY: Yeah, I played so awesome all day. I mean I did nothing wrong all day. I played great, I putted great. I hit the ball great, and I did everything that I needed to do coming down the stretch and then to give it away at 18 is very, very disappointing.

You know, it wasn't easy in the playoff as well. I struggled with my swing a little bit, but I was still mentally not quite there from the 18th hole anyway, but look, John's a great player, and I played with him yesterday, and he's got a great future and he's a young guy, and you know, all the best to him.

I mean it's great to see him win.

ROBERT ALLENBY: Obviamente decepcionado, decepcionado que no usé en tres de madera en el 18 de regulación como tenía que haber sido. Pero así pasa sabes. A veces cometes errores y ese fue uno grande, obviamente.

Digo, tenía este torneo en la bolsa, dos golpes de ventaja con un hoyo para jugar y lo jugué básicamente como un novato.

P. ¿Se siente como que fue hace una vida entera el hoyo 18 o el hoyo 72?

ROBERT ALLENBY: Si, jugué tan bien todo el día. El no hizo nada mal todo el día. Jugué bien, poteé bien Le pegué a la pelota bien e hice todo lo que tenía que hacer llegando al 18 y luego regalarlo en el 18 es muy, muy decepcionante.

Sabes, tampoco fue fácil en el desempate. Batallé un poco con mi swing pero mentalmente no estaba completamente presente del 18 pero mira John es un buen jugador y jugué con el ayer y tiene buen futuro y es un muchacho joven y sabes le deseo lo mejor.

Digo, es bueno verlo ganar.

The OHL Classic at Mayakoba made golf history when it became the first PGA TOUR event to ever be contested outside of the United States and Canada in February 2007. Today, the OHL Classic at Mayakoba remains “Mexico’s Only PGA TOUR Event” as it prepares to enter a new era with a new fall date in the expanded FedEx Cup schedule. Other past champions include: Fred Funk (2007), Brian Gay (2008), Mark Wilson (2009), Cameron Beckman (2010) and Johnson Wagner (2011).
